Please take a look at our weekly Wednesday Wellness Newsletters for tips and if you need Counseling Support please complete our referral form. We will contact you within 1 school day to speak with a school mental health provider, someone who can listen and offer strategies and supports for coping through this unusual circumstance.

Support for Students and Parents

We hope everyone is staying healthy and strong. It is normal to feel some level of stress and angst during this pandemic. Stress, fear and anxiety regarding this disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in some adults and children. Not knowing what may happen next, what’s going to happen in the future, or even what to expect may make some people feel uneasy. This is ALL normal. Here are some tips to help you during this time but most importantly take care of yourself and stay connected.

Accept your emotions. Be gentle on yourself and patient with others.
Limit exposure to media.
Move (dance, clean, cook, bake, play, facetime friends, paint/draw, listen to music, work)
Connect with others

**** Remember school work may also be a good distraction. Connect with your VVHS Teachers.

Updated School Closures Info

Due to the fluid nature of the COVID-19/Coronavirus situation, the HBUHSD has extended the school closures through April 17. Please check your emails for additional updates from the District and from Principal Clitheroe. Students, please continue to check your email as your teachers will begin contacting you regarding online learning assignments. In addition, Grab and Go lunches are available to all students at OVHS and WHS, Monday through Friday, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Mental Health Services During School Closures

Our District has partnered with Care Solace to provide mental health services for our students during the COVID-19 school closures. Care Solace provides 24/7 Emotional, Substance Abuse, and Crisis support referrals to our students and their families. Please visit the website, send them an email at or call 888-515-0595 to be connected with a therapist. Online and virtual therapy sessions are available.

Student Meals Update

Grab and go meals for all students in the District will be available for pick up at Ocean View High School and Westminster High School via drive through or walk up available Monday-Friday starting TOMORROW, March 18, from 12:00-1:00 pm. View the flyer for more details!
