Valley Vista High School Welcomes Our New Principal, Danny Morris!

Valley Vista High School is proud to welcome Danny Morris as our new principal. Mr. Morris brings more than 25 years of educational experience and a deep passion for alternative education, student success, and creating innovative learning opportunities that meet the unique needs of every student.

Mr. Morris began his career as a Social Studies and Technology teacher at Middle College High School in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District before serving at Back Bay High School, where he taught in both the Independent Study and Continuation High School programs. He later joined Huntington Beach Union High School District as Assistant Principal at Coast High School, where he supported continuation students while also overseeing the district's GED diploma program. He then served as Director of Alternative Education for the Irvine Unified School District, leading programs designed to provide flexible, student-centered pathways to graduation.

After two years in Irvine, Mr. Morris returned to Huntington Beach Union High School District, where he has spent the past 18 years serving students in a variety of leadership roles. His experience includes seven years as an assistant principal overseeing guidance, activities, supervision, curriculum, and instruction, followed by eleven years as principal at two comprehensive high schools. This diverse background—spanning continuation education, independent study, GED programs, district leadership, and comprehensive high schools—provides him with a unique perspective on meeting students' individual needs and removing barriers to success.

Throughout his career, Mr. Morris has been committed to expanding opportunities for students by developing flexible, non-traditional pathways that help every learner achieve their goals. He believes the strongest schools are built on meaningful relationships, collaboration with families, and student-centered decision-making. His leadership philosophy is grounded in the belief that every student deserves to be known, supported, challenged, and given the opportunity to succeed.
